Apple A Day series, No. 11
7 x 11"
Watercolor on Arches 140# Rough paper
Inspired by an article in "Watercolor Artist Magazine" about a painter who did still lifes as though they were landscapes, this is my first Applescape. I had to stack up boxes and books to bring my Apple up to eye level when sitting in a chair, my least favorite painting position, but sometimes it's worth it. "Applescape" turned out to be a grand adventure, meaning it taught me a lot, especially about composition. I also discovered a whole new world encompassing just the top of an Apple.
