The Pacific Ocean at dawn drove this piece. I was getting better at the design process…thinking ahead more. I just seemed to have beaches on my mind. They are calm and quiet places for me, especially Gold Beach in southern Oregon where those incredible monoliths march out to sea. Sea urchins and tide pools and secret, submerged grottos the size of my fist. This is the Apple that came out of all that.
